About me


Hi, I’m Brian Hurst. For over a decade, I’ve worked as a senior software engineer in the federal government, but my favorite part of the job has always been helping people feel confident using technology.Over time, I realized there’s a real need in Charlottesville for friendly, personal, subscription-based tech support — a service that doesn’t just fix problems, but helps people understand their technology so they feel more comfortable using it every day.That’s why I started Charlottesville Tech Concierge — a personalized, subscription-based tech concierge service that helps seniors, families, and small business owners get the most out of their technology. Whether you need device setup, troubleshooting, or just someone to explain technology in plain English, I’m here to help.

How it works


For a flat monthly rate, subscribers get unlimited support requests. You’ll always work directly with me, and I offer in-person support for local clients, as well as remote help via phone, text, email, and video chat.

Services included in the subscription:

  • Device setup & troubleshooting (computers, phones, tablets, smart home devices, streaming services, etc.)

  • Wi-Fi & basic home networking help

  • Tech training & digital literacy coaching

  • Online security & scam protection advice

  • Product recommendations & setup guidance

  • Small business tech support & software guidance

  • Basic website assistance (WordPress, small updates, etc.)


Who do you help?

I primarily assist seniors, families, and small business owners who need reliable, ongoing tech support. Whether you struggle with devices, need help managing your digital life, or want guidance for your business technology, I’m here to help.

What are your service hours?

I am available during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM). I do not offer emergency or after-hours support at this time.

What areas do you serve?

I primarily serve Charlottesville and surrounding areas. If you’re outside this area but are interested, reach out, and I’ll let you know if I can accommodate.

What type of services are NOT included?

While I aim to be as helpful as possible, I do not offer:

  • Cabling, electrical work, or advanced networking installations

  • Hardware repairs (broken screens, replacing internal components, etc.)

  • Large-scale website design or e-commerce builds

For these types of requests, I can refer you to a trusted local provider.

Do you offer IT services like managed IT support?

No, I do not provide traditional managed IT services, such as server administration or enterprise-level networking. My services are better suited for small business owners who need occasional, personalized tech help rather than a full IT department.

Simple, Subscription-Based Support

$99 / month

Or pay annually at $1,069/year ($119 savings)

  • Includes unlimited support requests

  • No contracts — just a 3-month minimum to start

  • In-person visits for local subscribers, remote help when you prefer

  • Your personal technology advisor, available by phone, text, or video


Is there a contract?

No long-term contracts! I require only a 3-month minimum commitment to start, after which you can continue monthly or cancel anytime.

How do I pay?

I accept credit/debit card payments through a secure online billing system. Monthly and annual subscriptions are auto-billed.

What happens if I want to cancel?

After the initial 3-month minimum, you can cancel anytime. Just provide notice before your next billing cycle, and your subscription will not renew.
